When he was nine, Shahib Sidow fled from Somalia’s civil war to the Netherlands. After twenty years without legal status, Shahib tells about his adventures. His friend Marie van Vollenhoven frames the story in a white space that continuously transforms and animates. The film tells and restores the feeling of lost time and doubts the robustness of good intentions, both in friendship and in bureaucracy.
Marie van Vollenhoven (Amsterdam 1983) lives and works in Maastricht, the Netherlands, as an independent artist. She makes multimedia theatre and is lecturer in the interdisciplinary art and design & technology department.
In her spatial installation, Marie van Vollenhoven will be painting murals directly on the walls of TAC.
Bit by bit the walls Marie will be transforming the white space filling it with stories. Come by to see her installation!
